    • Defibrillators – Defibrillators How important is having an AED machine readily available to someone that suffers from a cardiac arrest? In 2017-2018 the survival rates for patients that had received their first defibrillation shock by a public AED machine was 72%, compared with 62% from first res-ponders and only 48% survived when the patient received their first shock by an ambo. These figures prove just how vital it is to your family and co-workers to have an operational AED readily available if an incident was ever to occur. When someone experiences SCA the longer they wait until their first shock the less chance of survival. Source – * VACAR 2014-2015
      • AED Batteries & Pads – AED Batteries & Pads Replacements Defibrillator batteries & pads are made to last years, so it is vital to remain vigilant in their proper maintenance, so, if the time comes that you need to use your defibrillator, you don’t discover that the defibrillator battery is low (or completely drained), or that the Pads have passed their Expiry Date. What is the average shelf life for AED batteries and pads? Defibrillator Batteries: The minimum stand-by time for most defibrillator batteries is three years. This can differ depending on the AED model and brand, for example some of our AED’s have a typical life of at least four years. Although an AED unit’s batteries are not mandated to be changed by a particular the date, an automated warning will occur when the battery approaches its low charge level. You may find it useful to know that there is always a shock capability left in the battery at the time of the first low battery warning. Some models of defibrillators have LED light indicators that display the amount of battery charge left, so it can be easily monitored. Defibrillator Pads: With AED pads, replacement is usually required every 2 years. However, this may…
      • Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) – Automated External Defibrillators (aka Defibrillators) Did you know? Sudden Cardiac Arrest(SCA) strikes around 30,000 Australians every year, sadly less than 5% survive. Time is crucial in determining whether someone survives, and many don’t due to an ambulance service not being available to get to them in time*. The survival rate falls approximately 10% for every minute following the collapse until defibrillation. The best chance that an SCA victim has to survive is to receive a “shock” from a defibrillator as soon as possible, following the incident. Choose from a variety of premium AED defibrillator brands. – Cardiac Science, Lifepak, Heartsine, Instramed, Powerheart, Zoll –
      • Defibrillator Accessories – Defibrillator Accessories Wall Brackets, Cabinets, Signs, Response Kits, Inspection Tags. When installing a defibrillator you are likely to need either an AED Wall Bracket, or a protective AED Wall Cabinet. AED Wall Cabinets offer more security & protection, keeping the defibrillator protected from dust and other external factors. We currently have two options  when deciding on the wall cabinets: Our Standard Wall Cabinet, with a Door Alarm. Door alarmed cabinets do not outwardly convey that they are alarmed. When the door is opened, initiating the alarm, a thief will simply grab the defibrillator and run. or the AED Wall Cabinet with both a Door Alarm and Strobe Light. A Flashing Strobe Light provides a clear visual prompt that the cabinet is “alarmed,” adding an extra theft protection factor. AED Signage, Response Kit & Inspection Tags. A double-sided AED Wall Sign helps with product identification, and highlights where the AED is located, in case of an emergency. An AED Response kit is important to have on hand. It contains; a cloth for wiping the skin dry, heavy duty Shears for cutting away clothing, a Shaver for removing excessive chest hair and a CPR Face-shield for resuscitation hygiene. Also, check out our…

      • Workplace First Aid Kits – Workplace Specific First Aid Kits Beauregard First Aid recognises that first aid kits need to meet certain workplace needs, depending on the environment. We have tailored some of our first aid kits around certain industry requirements by including additional items to cover specific risks, such as Burns, Chemicals and Major Trauma injuries. Most First Aid Regulations today, recommend a Risk Analysis be undertaken to ascertain an organisation’s first aid needs. The following is a simple, yet useful guide that can be used when deciding on a first aid pack for your workplace.   First Aid Kit Risk Analysis Impact/Consequences Fatality Major Injury Minor Injury Negligible Injury Likelihood of Injury Very Likely High High High Moderate Likely High High Moderate Moderate Unlikely High Moderate Moderate Low Highly Unlikely Moderate Moderate Low Low Key: Low Risk – 0% to 33% Moderate Risk – 33% to 67% High Risk – 67% to 100% Check out our range of first aid kits and if you have any questions about what your workplace might need in their first aid pack, make sure you give…

      • PPE Products – Face Masks – Which One for You? (More COVID-Safe products to follow). The choice of which face mask to use should largely be dependent on the level of risk in any situation. Different situations will be a higher risk factor than others. Fortunately, you also have a choice of the filtering effectiveness and cost of different masks. Regarding COVID-19 virus, when there is no vaccine and no treatment, there is only one thing that works, and that is physical and social distancing. Transmission of COVID-19 virus can occur via both airborne and surface transmission of droplets, so you need to use a face mask and also wash your hands, to avoid inhaling or  transferring the virus to your mouth, nose or eyes. Bacteria and viruses can live on fabric for longer than one may think – up to 8-12 hours. Here’s some guiding factors : Age – the older you are, the more susceptible you are likely be to serious health consequences from the COVID-19 virus. Distancing – at least 1.5 mtrs apart to avoid transfer of airborne droplets. Crowds – the closer, more frequent and more numerous the contact that you have with others, the higher standard of face…
